Yoga Therapy Classes @ Crossing Center (East Cobb)

Weekly Public Classes @ Vista Yoga (Toco Hills/Oak Grove)

I offer weekly yoga therapy classes at my East Cobb location, and general public classes at Vista Yoga, near Toco Hills.

My yoga therapy classes are limited to 4-6 people and offer highly personalized yoga instruction. Pre-registration is required and classes are taught in workshop or series formats. You can read more about these therapy classes below.

Vista Yoga offers both livestream and in-person instruction at this time. Information about the accessible and vinyasa classes I teach is available below and on Vista Yoga’s website. Pre-registration is also recommended for these Vista Yoga classes, but drop-ins are welcome, too.

"Enjoyed my class with Patty! I am a beginner, but I started in classes geared toward longtime practitioners, and younger ones with no issues (like hips, back, knees, etc., found in the 60+ folks). So this was very helpful. Am so happy that she has soft music and temperatures under 75 degrees!"

"Love, love, love Patty and her classes. She is an excellent and caring instructor who takes into account each student’s individual strengths and challenges. I always feel attended to and experience healing.”

Weekly Therapeutic Yoga Class @ Crossing Center

Wednesdays, 10.30am
(75 minutes, in-person only)

I offer a weekly therapeutic yoga class at Crossing Center, in East Cobb; a chair is always available, and we use the stability of the chair to explore the depth of traditional yoga asana: sun salutations, standing postures, twists, supine work, and even backbends. I teach by themes, so we might explore shoulders for six weeks, before we move on to hip health for another six, for example. Because of the small-group format, themes can be tailored to an individual group.

This class offers stability, depth of learning, and a grounding practice. We usually get up and down off the floor once, although you may choose to practice in the chair (seated), throughout. This class is suitable for those living with chronic health conditions, hip or knee replacement, and other injury, and students needn’t have experience of yoga.

Please Note: you must pre-register for this class as it is small-sized and highly personalized to the attendees. I ask that all new participants in yoga therapy classes book a short pre-class consult in addition to pre-registration (you will see the invitation to the consult when you book your class).

Accessible (Therapeutic) Yoga Class (Vista Yoga)

Tuesdays/Thursdays, Noon
(75 minutes, livestream and in-person)

I offer a bi-weekly therapeutic yoga class; a chair is always available, and we use the stability of the chair to explore the depth of traditional yoga asana: sun salutations, standing postures, twists, supine work, and even backbends. This class offers stability, depth of learning, and a grounding practice. We usually get up and down off the floor once, and this class is suitable for those living with chronic health conditions, hip or knee replacement, and other injury.

Please Note: this is an accessible class. Any practice and any body is welcome at all times. We come as we are: it is a perfect class if I see downward facing dog happening seated, at the wall, on a mat, with a chair, etc. We will find the practice that is right for you.

Progressive Yoga (Vista Yoga)

Thursdays, 10am
(90 minutes, livestream and in-person)

I teach one class/week that offers progressive yoga sequencing toward more challenging yoga asana. We always begin with a warming of the body that explores shapes and principles within ‘advanced’ asana, inviting each student to find his or her fullest expression of any given pose, on any given day. Postures and teaching themes unfold over weeks at a time; vinyasa transitions are welcomed and cued, but not essential to the practice. Students are encouraged to follow their own breath and movement rhythms, and to inquire about the appropriate amount of heat in the body. Some experience of yoga is preferred; inversion and arm balancing options are common.

PLEASE NOTE: This class assumes some knowledge and experience of yoga, and is not suitable for beginners.

Workshops and Public Teacher Training @ Vista Yoga

I currently teach on the 200hr and 300hr Yoga Teacher Training faculty @ Vista Yoga, and I also regularly lead workshops through Vista Yoga and around the Southeastern United States, including intensives in pelvic floor health, restorative and yin practices, somatics (SATYA), anatomy, yoga for women’s health, and advanced sequencing. Some of these immersions can be taken for CEUs through Yoga Alliance (currently) and the International Association for Yoga Therapists (coming).
